Tom Jarman
Member of the Australian Fly Fishing Team | CortlandPro | Fly Fishing Guide and allround nice guy.
"I have devoted my life to fishing and my mission is to make everyone's time on the water as enjoyable as possible!
Growing up in Melbourne meant I was never too far away from some great spots to fish and practice my technique. I have been fortunate enough to learn almost all of our major river systems!
These days, I spend my time mostly in Melbourne and central Tasmania fishing, guiding, coaching, competing, running clinics and tying flies."

Salt Water

East Coast Angling
We cater for the adventerous Saltwater Fly Fisherman. The East Cape is home to to the most diverse Saltwater fly fishing available today. From endless wading available for Permit, Blue Bastards, GT's and an array of mixed reef species to heading offshore and targeting larger pelagic's like Spanish Mackerel, Dogtooth Tuna, Marlin, the Great Barrier Reef has all the bases covered.

Hello Backing Fly Fishing
The Fishing on Cocos Keeling is second to none, it's matched well with its remote location making it the best fishery in Australia for species such as Bonefish, Trigger Fish, GT's and much more! The fishing on Cocos is made up of inner reef flats and large sand flats on the inner side of the islands with a large population of XL bonefish. The Bonefish on CKI are bigger than your normal size bonefish average 65cm-80cm and 6-10lb with plenty of trophy fish getting around on the flats.

Cape York Fly Fishing
CY Fishing Charters operate inclusively out of Albany Island, which is right smack bang in the middle of some of Australia’s most fishable waters.
A bêche-de-mer station was established on Albany back in 1862. Way back then, they knew of the island’s rich resources. Now it is home to CY Fishing Charters. Port Albany as it was known then has a rich history in helping the development of the Cape. And now we are adding to that history by building its fishing legend.

Ningaloo Fly Fishing
Guided fly fishing for trophy bonefish, permit, GT and many other great species at Ningaloo Reef and Exmouth Gulf. Other great species include: golden trevally, sailfish, marlin, spanish mackerel, tuna, barramundi, giant herring, cobia, queenfish...and many more.
North West Cape is 1200 km north of Perth in Western Australia. Ningaloo Reef fringes the western side of the Cape from the tip for about 250 km south. The reef lays anything from a few hundred metres to a few kilometers offshore- thus forming a giant lagoon with extensive shallow sand flats and crystal clear water. There are not big tidal movements, and the sky is often cloudless. These factors combine to provide great polaroiding.
The area inside the reef holds numerous fish species including our discovery of trophy bonefish, as well as permit, golden trevally, giant trevally, blue trevally, goldspot trevally, queenfish, spangled emperor, milkfish, giant herring, tarpon, cobia and blue bastards.
There are not many places in the world that you can fish the flats for permit, bonefish and GT and be within sight of boats that are fishing for marlin and sailfish.
On the eastern side of the Cape, Exmouth Gulf offers a great alternative fly fishing experience. Most of the Exmouth Gulf waters are mangrove lined with tidal creeks and unbelievable extensive flats. There are also numerous islands and shallow shoals that offer a variety of fly fishing opportunities. If the wind blows from the west, there are sheltered bays in Exmouth Gulf to target permit, GT, metre plus queenfish, barramundi and many more species.

Kurt Rowlands
Kurt’s passion for fishing since he was a little boy grew into an obsession and because of that he now spends just about every day on the water guiding and fishing himself. Growing up fishing the waters of the Fraser Coast, along with the local freshwater impoundments and rivers he spent just about every spare second he could with a rod in his hand. As well as regularly Fishing areas from the Capricorn Coast to the Hinchinbrook Channel. Sight fishing is by far his favourite way to guide and fish, but Kurt isn’t too fussy when it comes to target species. From snag bashing for jacks and Barra to teasing up billfish, he just wants to catch it! Now taking up residence in tropical Cape York working under Fish’s Fly and Sportfishing, he has so many opportunities for world class fishing at his doorstep. From walking the beaches for giant herring, blue salmon, tarpon to getting shots and BB’s, permit and tuskies. A first class bill fish fishery and that’s without even mentioning the barramundi, mangrove jack and threadfin salmon fishery in the rivers. We look forward to seeing what results he comes up with for guests and his personal ventures.
